The EPA is in the spotlight today. The Environmental Protection Agency was established in 1970 when global pollution started to become a hot topic with a goal of monitoring and controlling the environmental pollution. The EPA has put into effect a many pollution reducing acts like the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and the Pollution Prevention Act, along with many others you can find on the EPA website. The EPA also conducts multiple studies a year to keep the environment safe from harmful pollutants commonly produced from construction sites, landfill, industrial factories and other places. Bowhead in fact can help reduce pollution with the different items like the Stream Guards, oil only spill pads, and oil skimmers.

There is a lot to do to make pollution rates lower and thanks to the EPA and the studies they conduct, everyone can know exactly how to prevent pollution and save our great environment. Even something as simple as fertilizer when sent directly into the water supply can have a very harmful reaction. Nitrogen found in most fertilizers carried down the Mississippi River has caused a Dead Zone in the Gulf of Mexico that’s roughly the size of Massachusetts where no fish or plants can survive. Without the help of the EPA our knowledge for the pollution caused by just everyday life would differ greatly today.
